Starting from April 5, 2025, the fuel surcharge collection standards for domestic airline passenger transportation in China will be reduced. The updated rates are as follows:
Adult passengers:
- Routes over 800 kilometers: 20 CNY per passenger (previously 40 yuan).
- Routes 800 kilometers or shorter: 10 CNY per passenger (previously 20 yuan).
This marks a reduction of 20 CNY and 10 CNY, respectively, reaching the lowest level in nearly a year.
Currently, ticket bookings for the May Day holiday have not yet peaked. Travelers are advised to book flights after April 5 to benefit from the lowered fuel surcharge, which will reduce overall holiday travel costs.
Additional provisions:
- Infants eligible for 10% of the standard adult airfare are exempt from fuel surcharges.
- Children (including unaccompanied minors), revolutionary disabled military personnel, and public security officers disabled in the line of duty, who are entitled to 50% of the standard adult airfare, will be charged:
- 0 CNY for flights 800 kilometers or shorter.
- 10 CNY for flights over 800 kilometers.
This adjustment aims to alleviate travel expenses while maintaining compliance with national regulations.
