Renaissance Hotels Arrives at Hangzhou’s Technology Hub with the Debut of Renaissance Hangzhou Lin’an Qingshan Lake Tech City

Embark on a journey where ancient culture meets modern innovation at the second Renaissance property in Hangzhou.

HANGZHOU, September 19, 2025 — Renaissance Hotels, one of Marriott Bonvoy’s 30 extraordinary hotel brands, today announced the opening of the Renaissance Hangzhou Lin’an Qingshan Lake Tech City. Nestled within the heart of Qingshan Lake Tech City—an area renowned for its concentration of high-tech enterprises—the hotel embodies the brand’s spirit of discovery while seamlessly weaving in elements of Song Dynasty culture and contemporary technology. This new establishment offers guests a culturally rich and inspiring travel experience.

Located on Dayuan Road in Lin’an District and enveloped by the lush greenery of Shishan Park, the hotel is surrounded by leading technology institutions and research centers. It is approximately 20 kilometers from Hangzhou West Railway Station and 67 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, with convenient access to Metro Line 16 at Qingshan Lake Tech City Station. From the vibrant Qingshan Lake Powerlong Plaza to serene escapes like Qingshan Lake Forest Park, the Lin’an Museum, and the ancient Jingshan Temple, the hotel serves as an ideal gateway for both business and leisure explorations.

Dramatic Aesthetics Inspired by Song Dynasty Elegance

Drawing inspiration from the refined aesthetics and commercial prosperity of the Song Dynasty, the hotel’s design tells a story of timeless elegance and creative energy. The lobby evokes the ambience of a Southern Song Dynasty waterfront dock, with the reception desk resembling a sailing mast and flooring inlays inspired by ancient banknotes and travel documents—symbolizing Hangzhou’s enduring role as a center of trade and cultural exchange. Architectural details throughout suggest stacked cargo at a bustling pier, recalling the vibrant commercial history of Lin’an.

The hotel offers 296 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, each featuring bold color palettes that blend visual impact with artistic sensibility. All accommodations are equipped with premium bedding, elegant bathrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Select rooms include private balconies overlooking Shishan Park, allowing guests to immerse themselves in a tranquil natural setting.

A Culinary Journey Through Time and Taste

The hotel’s dining venues present a modern interpretation of traditional flavors. Ran Restaurant captures the lively spirit of a Southern Song market, featuring an open kitchen that serves both classic Jiangnan dishes and contemporary international cuisine. Renaissance Court, the signature Chinese restaurant, draws inspiration from the musical and literary gatherings of Song Dynasty intellectuals, offering refined Jiangzhe delicacies and creative interpretations of Song-era feasts. Private dining rooms provide an intimate setting for special occasions.

The iconic R Bar, reimagined as a modern “Jiao Dian”—a rest stop from the Song Dynasty—features a striking ceiling installation resembling a balance scale and uniquely crafted furnishings. By day, it is an ideal spot for afternoon tea, coffee, and pastries; by night, it transforms into a social hotspot as part of the brand’s signature “Evenings at Renaissance” program, featuring bespoke cocktails, live music, and culturally inspired experiences.

Versatile and Inspiring Event Spaces

With over 2,200 square meters of event space, the hotel is equipped to host a wide range of occasions, from corporate meetings to romantic weddings. Two grand ballrooms can be divided into two or three separate areas, accommodating large-scale events with ease. Additionally, eight multifunctional meeting rooms ranging from 50 to 110 square meters provide flexible options for more intimate gatherings.

For wellness enthusiasts, the hotel offers a 24-hour fitness center designed with a poetic “flowers reflected in a mirror, moon reflected in water” aesthetic, alongside an indoor temperature-controlled pool adorned with gradient mosaic tiles for a visually enchanting swim.

True to the Renaissance brand, the hotel features a dedicated “Renaissance Navigator”—a local expert who guides guests through hidden cultural gems and unique experiences around Lin’an, ensuring every stay is filled with discovery and delight.
